1958 & 1959 Won Hill climb in Belknap, N.H., (in 58) driving a Corvette, his first competitive event

1960SCCA FP National Championship (Elva Courier)

1961 SCCA EP National Championship (Elva Courier)

1962 & 1963 Drove Elva, TVR, Daimler and Cooper Offy in SCCA events

1964 Drove Bob Griffith Ford Cobra 289 ( learning to put racing deals together), MGB in a few SCCA races

1965 SCCA BP Northeast Division Natrional Championship(Mustang/Shelby GT350R), SCCA Formula C (Lotus 20B)
drove John Mecom's Ferrari with his racing mentor Walt Hansgen at Sebring 12 hour

1966 Joined Roger Penske Racing Team, won USRRC race at Mosport (Lola Chev), 2nd at Sebring for Ford (Ford GT Mk II)

1967 SCCA USRRC Champion (Sunoco Lola T70 Chevrolet) Winning 6 of 7 races, 2nd in SCCA Trans Am Series in his first year (Sunoco Camaro Z/28)

1968 SCCA USRRC Champion (Sunoco McLaren Chevrolet), SCCA Trans Am Championship (Sunoco Camaro Z/28) winning 10 of 13 races, started first Indy Car race (Sunoco Eagle Chev)

1969 SCCA Trans Am Championship (Sunoco Camaro Z/28) winning 6 of 12 races, 7th for first Indianapolis 500 "Rookie Of The Year" (Sunoco Lola Ford), Daytona 24 hour race winner ( Sunoco Lola T70 Coupe Chevrolet),

1970 2nd in SCCA Trans Am (Sunoco/AMC Javelin), 2nd in Indianapolis 500 (Sunoco Lola Ford), SCCA F5000 (Sunoco Penske/Lola Chev) won 2 of 3 races entered

1971 SCCA Trans Am Championship (Sunoco AMC Javelin ), Won Inaugural Pocono 500 (Sunoco McLaren Offy), 3rd in Canadian GP (Sunoco/Kirk White McLaren Ford) , Mark's first F1 race, won the pole in Daytona 24 hour, Sebring 12 hour and LeMans 24 hour in world's fastest Sunoco/Kirk White Ferrari but never managed a win with the car

1972 Indianapolis 500 Winner (Sunoco McLaren Offy) at an average speed of 162.962, a record that stood until 1986 and Roger Penske's first Indy win, 2nd SCCA CanAm (L&M Porsche 917/10KL) was involved in serious testing crash and was out of his car most of the season. George Follmer went on to win Championship in another Penske/L&M Porsche 917/10KL cars.

1973 SCCA Can Am Championship (Sunoco-DX Porsche 917/30KL), Won Riverside/Western 500 NASCAR Winston Cup Race (AMC Matador), USAC Championship (Sunoco Eagle Offy)

1974 Won Inaugural IROC Championship (Porsche Carrera), became Penske Racing's team manager until he decided to start racing in F1 cars again, started the Canadian GP, and USGP in a Penske PC4 Ford

1975 Established Worlds Closed Course Speed Record at Talledega, AL in a (CAM2 Porsche 917/30KL), one week later practice crash for the Austrian GP


1991Inducted into both the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in Talledega, Alabama, and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in Novi, Michigan

2003Mark Donohue Tribute at Watkins Glen, NY Sept 5-7, 2003
